So I will start at the beginning, when I realized I really love interior design. I used to fly to Paris once a week for 17 years, as a French speaker for Continental Airlines. On my layovers, I would walk and always try to find the cool lounge places to go hang out in. Being immersed in interesting and beautiful spaces has always uplifted and inspired me.
My favorite place to go was “Le Centre Pompidou”, the modern art museum of Paris. At the top of the museum there is a restaurant called “Le George” where I would go for a glass of champagne. This architectural design by Renzo Piano is so out of the ordinary!
As a child my mother took me to Pompidou but it hadn’t clicked yet, but when I came back as an adult, I knew at that moment I was hooked! Where else can I find more places like these?
Houston actually has two Renzo Piano Buildings - the Menil Museum and the George R Brown Convention Center.
